Job summary

COOLSOFT in Salt Lake City, UT seeks a Senior Java Application Developer to build Java applications and web services. You will work remotely with occasional onsite meetings, collaborating with engineers and subject matter experts to replace legacy systems and deliver new functionality using Java, JSF, EJB, and PostgreSQL.

The role requires strong communication skills and a track record of delivering secure, scalable software in a government-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive Java/Core Java and Java EE experience required.
• Strong SQL knowledge with PostgreSQL and PL/pgSQL.
• Experience with JSF/EJB and RESTful web services.
• Familiarity with cloud concepts and AWS CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test Java applications and web services for public and internal users.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to replace legacy apps and deliver enhancements.
• Update existing apps to maintain functionality and meet requirements.
• Implement authentication using OAuth2/OpenAM standards.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and adhere to data security standards.
