Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Senior Java Backend Developer for a contract role in Charlotte, NC. The position focuses on designing scalable backend services and APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices.

Hybrid onsite work is expected, with collaborative Agile teams driving critical onboarding initiatives for Merchant Services. The ideal candidate will bring enterprise-level backend experience, strong problem-solving skills, and a track record of delivering reliable, high-availability systems

Qualifications

5+ years of enterprise-level backend development experience.
Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Microservices Architecture, RESTful API Development.
Experience building and supporting scalable, high-availability applications.
Understanding of software development best practices and design patterns.
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative Agile environment.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
Build and enhance microservices-based applications.
Develop, test, and support REST APIs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to architectural discussions.
