Job summary

Luxoft in New York seeks a Senior Java Developer to design, build, and scale backend services for a high-throughput platform with strict reliability and auditability. You will own end-to-end delivery from design to production, collaborating with Product, QA, and DevOps.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of backend Java experience.
• Strong Spring ecosystem knowledge.
• Proven PostgreSQL performance tuning and transactions experience.
• Hands-on AWS production services experience.
• Strong API design and versioning.
• Observability with logs, metrics, tracing.
• CI/CD with GitHub Actions and code-quality tooling.
• Experience with distributed systems resilience patterns.
• Familiarity with Docker and IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation).
• Secure coding per OWASP Top 10 and encryption.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement microservices and event-driven components in Java 17+.
• Model and optimize PostgreSQL schemas, queries, and transactions for performance and integrity.
• Build resilient, observable services on AWS (ECS/EKS/Lambda, RDS/Aurora, MSK/Kinesis, IAM).
• Ship with CI/CD practices (GitHub Actions) and leverage GitHub Copilot to boost quality.
• Ensure reliability, scalability, and fault tolerance (circuit breakers, retries, idempotency).
• Implement security and compliance controls (authz/authn, secrets, IAM policies).
• Own production operations: monitoring, troubleshooting, tuning, and incident response.
• Contribute to architecture decisions, code reviews, and engineering standards.
