Job summary

BCforward is seeking a Senior Java Backend / Enterprise Application Developer to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will excel in Java, Spring, Oracle, SOA, and RESTful services, delivering resilient applications that meet critical business needs.

The role involves designing, developing, testing, and deploying software, collaborating across teams, and supporting releases while exploring emerging technologies. Hybrid onsite work is expected in multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Java, Core Java/J2EE, Spring, and Oracle.
• Understanding of SOA, web services, and REST APIs.
• Hands-on experience with Spring and Hibernate.
• Proficiency with build and CI tools such as Maven and Jenkins.
• Strong problem-solving skills with ownership and delivery focus.
• Experience conducting proofs of concept for new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, debug, support, maintain, and test applications for business units.
• Contribute to application development and maintenance activities across the lifecycle.
• Participate in requirements discussions and provide technical input.
• Drive application design and implement software to specifications.
• Collaborate with QA and performance testing to meet tollgate criteria.
• Work with support teams to deploy releases and resolve defects.
• Support proof-of-concept initiatives for emerging technologies.
