Job summary

BCforward is seeking a Senior Java Developer / Technical Lead to join our team in Newark, DE on a 12-month contract. The role requires leading design and delivery of scalable Java enterprise applications using Core Java, Spring, RESTful services, and distributed systems.

The ideal candidate will drive architecture, code reviews, and secure development practices while guiding teams through the SDLC. Onsite expectation is hybrid with at least 3 days per week in the office.

Qualifications

• Core Java and J2EE with enterprise and distributed systems experience.
• Strong OOP fundamentals and Java design patterns.
• Spring: Boot, MVC, Security, Integration, Data JPA.
• RESTful services, JSON; SOAP knowledge.
• Secure coding practices and code reviews.
• Monitoring with Splunk and Dynatrace in production.
• Git, Maven, JUnit; performance tuning for high-volume apps.
• GitHub Copilot for Java with AI code quality validation.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of high-volume Java applications.
• Uphold technical architecture, design patterns, coding standards.
• Guide SDLC processes with code reviews and secure practices.
• Design and integrate REST/SOAP services with robust contracts.
• Implement Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Integration, Spring Data JPA.
• Optimize performance and reliability of distributed systems and APIs.
• Establish monitoring and observability using Splunk and Dynatrace.
• Leverage AI-assisted workflows to accelerate development and testing.
