Job summary

Quantum Technologies. LLC is seeking a Java Backend Developer with AWS to join our Chicago team on a hybrid arrangement.

You will design and implement scalable microservices, RESTful APIs, and data integrations using Java 17+, Spring Boot, Python, and AWS services. You will focus on resiliency across multi-AZ deployments, production incident RCA, observability with CloudWatch, and building CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and CloudFormation.

Qualifications

7+ years of backend software engineering in distributed, high-availability systems.
Strong Java (17+) and Spring Boot expertise, with Python experience.
Extensive AWS experience across core services: ECS/Fargate, S3, Lambda, EventBridge, SQS, CloudWatch.
Relational DB design and tuning with PostgreSQL/Aurora PostgreSQL.
CI/CD and IaC familiarity with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CodePipeline, and CloudFormation.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable microservices and REST APIs.
Architect resiliency with multi-AZ/region deployments and DR testing.
Analyze production incidents, perform RCA, and enhance observability using CloudWatch.
Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines and IaC workflows.
Mentor junior developers and promote automated testing standards.
