Job summary

BOK Financial Corporation is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and operate Java Spring Boot microservices on AWS, migrating from on-prem. You will lead technical efforts in a cross-functional team, mentor peers, and drive operational excellence.

The role emphasizes AI-assisted tooling, event-driven architectures (Kafka, SNS/SQS), and robust data stores (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis).

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years of software engineering experience.
• 3–5+ years designing and building secure Java Spring Boot microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Production experience on AWS with event-driven patterns (Kafka, SNS/SQS/Kinesis) and containers (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proficiency with SQL Server or PostgreSQL.
• Strong testing discipline and CI/CD pipelines; code review excellence.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate Spring Boot microservices and RESTful APIs on AWS.
• Lead technical reviews, mentor peers, and drive engineering excellence.
• Implement event-driven features using Kafka and cloud messaging services.
• Ensure observability with monitoring tools and incident response.
