Job summary

Maryland Department of Transportation in Baltimore seeks a Senior Intelligent Transportation Systems Engineer to lead ITS and Electrical projects, develop plans, reviews, and estimates. You will supervise a team of ITS engineers and coordinate with MDTA disciplines to advance toll, security, and fiber optic systems.

Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering and seven years of professional experience, including two years in ITS design and management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Seven (7) years of experience in professional engineering.
• Two (2) years of this experience must be in the design and management of Intelligent Transportation System projects.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of engineers comprised of ITS consultants in planning, design, coordination and implementation of ITS programs.
• Assist the ITS Manager with identifying projects for ITS program inclusion.
• Write engineering specifications.
• Assign work and review that of ITS team members.
• Develop and maintain task/project schedules.
• Track and manage budgets for ITS projects.
• Prepare engineering reports.
• Coordinate with other MDTA Disciplines.
• Communicate answers to contractors regarding RFIs.
• May manage small and less complex projects from beginning to completion.
