Job summary

Ardurra is seeking a Senior ITS Engineer to lead design and development of Intelligent Transportation Systems for transportation projects across Florida. The position supports traffic management, CCTV, DMS, and field devices with a strong emphasis on engineering solutions and FDOT standards.

The role offers hybrid work from Orlando, Tampa, or Miami, with collaboration across the Transportation Team to deliver complex ITS infrastructure.

Qualifications

7-10+ years of progressively responsible engineering experience with ITS design.
ABET-accredited program in Civil/Electrical Engineering or related field.
Professional Engineer license in Florida or ability to obtain within 6 months.
Experience designing ITS infrastructure for transportation/public agency projects.
Proficiency with ITS field devices, communications, and traffic monitoring tech.

Responsibilities

Lead technical design of ITS for FDOT, municipal, and other agencies.
Prepare engineering plans, specs, calculations, quantities, and cost estimates for ITS infrastructure.
Design ITS components: CCTV, DMS, vehicle detection, traffic monitoring equipment, field devices.
Develop fiber-optic networks, telecom infrastructure, equipment cabinets, ITS connectivity.
Support ATMS, TMCs, and other transportation technology applications.
Create ITS system layouts, comms diagrams, network architecture, device specs.
Coordinate ITS design with traffic signals, roadways, electrical disciplines.
Perform evaluations of ITS equipment and integration requirements.
Provide QA/QC of ITS design plans and deliverables.
Mentor junior engineers and staff; provide technical guidance.
