SENIOR IT SYSTEMS ENGINEER II

Located onsite at our Albuquerque, NM facility, the Senior IT Systems Engineer will be responsible for the implementation, administration, and operation of the Windows Server platform and operating system environments that are in use at Rocket Lab. These platforms and operating systems include:

• VMware
• Windows Server and Client

WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO:

• Enable Rocket Lab Engineers globally, by leveraging the latest platform technology, to efficiently design, manufacture, and manage the next generation of rockets and space systems.
• Assist our team by providing subject matter expertise and support for our platforms, operating systems, and supporting infrastructure.
• Carry out upgrades and maintenance with a focus on continuous improvement to provide a reliable and secure infrastructure.
• Assist with and/or manage project planning and deployment for platform initiatives.
• Support Configuration Management by implementing standards for deployment and management of platform environments to ensure compliance with policies, cybersecurity standards, and system reliability, including high availability, disaster recovery, documentation, and automation.

YOU’LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS:

• 8+ years of experience in IT and a bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience (12+ years total).
• 2+ years in a platform-focused technology role.
• Strong knowledge of VMware, Windows, Configuration Management, Automation.
• U.S. citizenship is required due to program requirements.

THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:

• Scripting, automation, or Infrastructure as Code experience.
• Experience with O365, Azure, and/or AWS.
• GPO Policy, Group, Computer, and User Administration in complex environments.
• Knowledge of security frameworks like ISO 27001, NIST 800-171, IPSEC, SSL VPNs, firewalls, etc.

ADA REQUIREMENTS:

• Specific vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus.
• Ability to sit, use hands, operate a keyboard, communicate verbally and in writing.
• Must be able to commute to buildings.
• Occasional exposure to dust, fumes, and moderate noise levels.
