Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. in Maryland is seeking a System Administrator to manage mission-critical IT infrastructure across Windows and UNIX systems, with hands-on hardware and software responsibilities.

The role requires strong RedHat Linux and Windows troubleshooting, vulnerability management support with Nessus, and ITAR-compliant security practices. An active TS/SCI with Polygraph is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field is required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
• Minimum 15+ years of system administration experience.
• Strong RedHat Linux and Windows (2012/2016/2019) troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with Nessus, POA&Ms, and STE/STN initiatives.
• Proficiency configuring UNIX and Windows environments.
• An active TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and resolve complex problems associated with server hardware, applications and software integration.
• Provide detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets.
• Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems.
• Provide Tier I and II IT support and problem resolution.
• Configure and manage RedHat Linux and Windows systems.
• Support vulnerability management using Nessus.
• Handle STE/STN scoring and documentation.
• Maintain POA&Ms and patch systems based on security and functional parameters.
• Collaborate with hardware vendors on system specs and refreshes.
• Analyze escalated issues and provide actionable feedback.
