Job summary

Innoflight is seeking an IT Systems Administrator III in San Diego to lead secure infrastructure operations across servers, networks, and cloud platforms. You’ll enforce cybersecurity controls, drive system improvements, and mentor junior staff in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

You’ll collaborate with Engineering and Cybersecurity teams to align IT with business goals. A background with CMMC/NIST and Cloud is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in system administration, networking, and security operations.
• Experience with Windows/Linux servers, AD, virtualization, and enterprise networking.
• Knowledge of network security, firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and secure configurations.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and IAM systems.
• Familiarity with security frameworks (NIST, CMMC, ISO).
• Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure and automate solutions.
• Proficiency in PowerShell or Python scripting (preferred).
• Certifications like Security+, Azure Administrator, CCNA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, optimize, and maintain enterprise servers, virtualization, storage, and networks.
• Enforce cybersecurity controls, patching, endpoint protection, and vulnerability remediation.
• Troubleshoot complex system, network, and application issues to maintain uptime.
• Manage systems in secured or classified environments with strict security protocols.
• Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and automation initiatives.
• Monitor performance and implement proactive optimizations.
• Support disaster recovery planning and restore testing.
• Oversee patching, maintenance windows, firmware updates, and CM.
• Manage core network services: firewalls, VPNs, DNS/DHCP.
• Track software licenses and maintain security documentation.
• Document configurations and policies; support audits and compliance.
• Provide on-call support and mentor junior staff.
• Research and propose improvements to enhance efficiency and security.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Cybersecurity and business teams.
