Job summary

Asotin County seeks an IT Systems Administrator to manage network, server, cloud, and communications infrastructure across departments. You will supervise IS staff, lead technology projects, and serve as the primary contact for cybersecurity incidents and CJIS compliance.

Remote work is possible at times; position is non-exempt and non-union. The role requires strong technical skills in Windows Server environments, firewalls, VPNs, and virtualization, plus excellent communication and vendor

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s Degree or five years of related experience; certifications preferred.
• Proficient with desktop hardware, networking, switches, VoIP, VPNs, Windows Server environments.
• Strong reading, writing and presentation skills.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to pass background checks.
• Ability to train county employees on hardware and software.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and maintains network users, infrastructure, directories and security.
• Supervises Help Desk and IT Technicians; serves as escalation point for issues.
• Leads cybersecurity incident response, patching, MFA and security training.
• Maintains CJIS Security Policy compliance and IT policies.
• Administers Microsoft 365 GCC, Entra ID, Exchange Online and Teams.
• Manages enterprise firewalls, switches, wireless, virtualization, backups and DR.
• Coordinates technology grants and IT budget requests; purchases via contracts.
• Manages vendor relationships and IT projects from requirements to cutover.
• Responds to IT portions of public records requests.
• Keeps network configuration updated; attends conferences and stays current on tech.
