Job summary

ASM Research in Oak Ridge, Tennessee seeks an experienced IT professional to manage complex information systems across multiple disciplines, including application support, database administration, software QA/QC, software engineering, and infrastructure operations.

The role designs and builds IT infrastructures, analyzes needs, mentors junior staff, automates tasks, and evaluates new technologies for integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field; Master’s preferred.
• CompTIA A+ or ITIL certification preferred.
• 7–10 years of IT/system administration experience.

Responsibilities

• Designs and builds complex IT infrastructures across multiple disciplines.
• Analyzes planning, design and evaluation of IT tools and platforms.
• Handles complex system upgrade requests requiring research.
• Implements highly complex applications and tests operating systems.
• Schedules, performs, and monitors system backups and data recoveries.
• Performs root-cause analysis on production systems.
• Mentors junior team members on troubleshooting complex problems.
• Applies scripting to automate related tasks.
