Job Summary
This position provides systems administration, enterprise endpoint management, and advanced technical support for the College of Nursing. It shares administrative ownership of the College’s Windows and macOS endpoint environments and related enterprise technologies, including Microsoft Intune, Jamf/mobile device management ( MDM ), Microsoft Active Directory, and Group Policy. This role provides frontline and advanced technical support to faculty, staff, and students across College locations and serves as a senior technical resource and escalation point for the IT support team. It provides advanced administration and support for classroom, audiovisual, conferencing, and livestreaming technologies and works collaboratively with College IT staff, university technology partners, vendors, and other stakeholders to administer technology systems, resolve complex and systemic technical issues, implement solutions, support technology projects, and maintain reliable, secure, and responsive technology services.
Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience
- Requires job related accreditation from a technical school or an applicable skilled trades program and 4 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials Preferred Qualifications
- Experience providing advanced technical support and systems administration in a complex organizational environment, preferably within higher education, healthcare, or a similarly distributed environment.
- Experience administering enterprise Windows and macOS endpoint environments, including Microsoft Intune, Jamf or comparable mobile device management ( MDM ) platforms, Microsoft Active Directory, and Group Policy.
- Experience with device provisioning and automated deployment, application packaging and software deployment, configuration and policy management, patch management, endpoint security and compliance, endpoint monitoring and troubleshooting, and technology lifecycle management.
- Experience independently diagnosing and resolving complex or systemic technical issues and administering technologies supporting multiple users and managed endpoints.
- Experience supporting audiovisual, classroom, conferencing, and instructional technology systems.
- Experience supporting livestreamed and hybrid events, including cameras, audio systems, video switching, streaming platforms, and network-based AV technologies.
- Experience providing technical guidance, training, or mentoring to IT support personnel, student employees, or temporary staff.
- Experience participating in or coordinating technology projects, system implementations, upgrades, or enterprise technology deployments.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems and enterprise endpoint technologies.
- Knowledge of enterprise endpoint and mobile device management concepts, technologies, and practices.
- Ability to administer, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Microsoft Intune, Jamf, or comparable endpoint-management platforms.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy administration.
- Knowledge of device provisioning, software deployment, configuration management, patch management, endpoint security, compliance, and lifecycle-management practices.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently research, diagnose, and resolve routine, complex, and systemic technology issues.

Job Duties
- Systems Administration & Endpoint Management: Shares administrative ownership and responsibility for the College’s enterprise endpoint management environment and related technology systems. Independently administers, configures, maintains, monitors, and troubleshoots Microsoft Intune, Jamf and mobile device management ( MDM ), Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, and related enterprise management technologies supporting Windows and macOS endpoints. Develops, implements, and maintains device configurations, configuration profiles, endpoint policies, application packages and software deployments, patching and update processes, security and compliance configurations, automated provisioning, and standardized endpoint configurations. Administers Active Directory users, computers, groups, and related objects and supports the development, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Group Policy. Monitors endpoint health, compliance, deployment status, and management-system performance. Investigates systemic issues affecting managed devices, identifies root causes, and develops and implements corrective solutions. Evaluates, tests, and implements changes to endpoint‑management technologies, configurations, and practices. Works collaboratively with university IT partners on enterprise services while maintaining responsibility for College‑specific endpoint configurations, deployments, administration, and support. Maintains technical standards, system documentation, procedures, and knowledge resources. Identifies opportunities to improve security, reliability, automation, standardization, and lifecycle management of College technology. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 35
- Frontline & Advanced Technical Support: Provides frontline and advanced technical support to faculty, staff, and students across College locations. Diagnoses and resolves hardware, software, operating system, connectivity, peripheral, printing, account, and endpoint technology issues. Responds to service requests and provides timely, customer‑focused support for both routine and complex technical problems. Independently diagnoses and resolves advanced issues within assigned areas of responsibility and serves as an escalation resource for issues requiring additional technical expertise. Works collaboratively with other IT staff, university technology partners, and vendors to research, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical problems. Supports workstation setup, technology deployments, employee onboarding and offboarding, equipment replacement, office moves, and other day‑to‑day technology needs. Documents technical solutions, procedures, and recurring issues to support consistent service delivery, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 30
- Classroom, AV, Conferencing & Livestreaming Technology: Provides technical support and administration for audiovisual, classroom, conference, and instructional technologies across College facilities. Configures, troubleshoots, maintains, and supports classroom and meeting‑room technology, including displays, projection systems, audio systems, microphones, cameras, conferencing technologies, control systems, network‑connected AV technologies, and related equipment. Provides technical support for livestreamed and hybrid College events, including cameras, audio systems, video switching, streaming platforms, network‑connected AV technologies, and related production equipment. Supports instructional activities, meetings, special events, and other high‑visibility College activities. Coordinates with university partners and vendors as needed to diagnose issues, maintain systems, and implement improvements. Performs preventative maintenance, maintains technical documentation, and helps ensure classroom, meeting, and event technologies remain reliable and ready for use. - Technical Leadership, Projects & Team Support: May act as a technical lead for assigned technology systems, projects, implementations, student employees, temporary personnel, and support activities. Serves as a senior technical resource for the College IT team and provides technical guidance to other IT staff. Provides functional guidance, training, mentoring, and work coordination to student employees, temporary employees, and other support personnel as assigned. Assists other IT staff in diagnosing and resolving complex or unfamiliar technical issues and serves as an escalation resource when additional expertise is required. Coordinates assigned technology projects and implementations, including technical planning, evaluation, testing, configuration, deployment, documentation, and communication with appropriate stakeholders. Develops and maintains technical documentation, procedures, standards, and knowledge resources. Identifies recurring technical and service issues and develops processes or technical solutions to improve reliability, consistency, and service delivery. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 10
- Other Technology & Operational Support: Provides technology support for College events, employee onboarding and offboarding, equipment deployments, office moves, technology refreshes, and other College initiatives.
