Job summary

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina is seeking a Senior IT Category Manager to lead sourcing and vendor governance for IT hardware, software, and services. You will partner with vendors, business owners, and the Corporate Services Vendor Contracting team to optimize contracts and drive cost reductions.

You will develop category strategies, run RFPs/RFQs, analyze total cost of ownership, and coordinate vendor reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (or 7+ years in related field).
• 5+ years of experience in related field; senior-level knowledge expected.
• In lieu of degree, substantial experience may substitute.

Responsibilities

• Establish sourcing strategies for IT hardware, software and services with stakeholders.
• Conduct sourcing events, develop category profiles, strategies, and evaluation criteria.
• Develop bid documents (RFP/RFI/RFQ) and manage status reporting.
• Analyze market dynamics and share industry knowledge within product/service portfolio.
• Source products/services using tools and analytics to drive business results.
• Evaluate total cost of ownership and provide optimization recommendations.
• Lead cross-functional vendor negotiations and coordinate arrangements.
• Review supplier relationship management and performance within a category.
• Foster positive vendor relationships and drive engagement through transactions.
• Coordinate and host vendor business reviews and annual plans.
• Coordinate risk assessments and address significant risks; escalate as needed.
