Job summary

Meritus Health is seeking an IT Server Systems Engineer to design, configure, implement, secure, and maintain the enterprise server infrastructure. You will work with SANs, AD, VMware, cloud services, SQL databases, M365, and security tooling in a 24/7 healthcare environment.

You will lead complex projects, collaborate across IT teams, and ensure system reliability, security, and performance. 5–7 years of hands‑on VMware/Windows or Linux experience is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, or related field.
• 5–7 years hands‑on experience administering Microsoft Windows Server or Linux in a healthcare or enterprise environment.
• In‑depth experience with domain controllers, Active Directory objects, OU structures, GPO administration, PowerShell, DNS, and remote access.
• Minimum 5 years of recent hands‑on experience with VMware.
• Experience administering SQL, implementing SQL clustering, and managing database backups/restoration.
• Experience performing Office 365 migrations, including Exchange Online and SharePoint/Teams Online.

Responsibilities

• Server administration — Build, maintain, and troubleshoot physical and virtual servers; perform hardening, patching, backups, and monitoring.
• Infrastructure monitoring — Proactively monitor faults, performance, and capacity; document remediation steps.
• Active Directory & core services — Manage AD, DNS, certificates, DFS, file services, IIS, ADFS, SQL, Exchange, and Windows apps.
• Cloud administration — Support migration and maintenance of AWS, Azure, and M365 environments.
• Backup systems — Implement and oversee large backup solutions; maintain onsite/offsite backups and recovery plans.
• SAN management — Configure and administer SAN environments, including storage migrations and updates.
• Remote access technologies — Support MFA, VDI, VPN, and SecureLink; maintain design/config/docs.
• Project leadership — Manage priorities and contribute to complex enterprise IT projects.
