Job summary

Weber Blackstone in Palatine, IL, seeks a senior security operations leader to run detection, response, and vulnerability programs. You will supervise a small team, manage incidents end-to-end, and coordinate with MDR/MSSP partners while enforcing IAM, SSO, MFA, and secure configurations across on-prem and cloud environments.

You will also support PCI DSS and IT audits, drive security awareness, and work with HR and IT on access control processes.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in IT security or security-focused roles
• 3+ years leading people or projects
• Hands-on with EDR, SIEM, email security tools
• Identity management: SSO, MFA, AD/Entra ID
• Vulnerability management program experience
• Familiarity with NIST CSF/CIS Controls and PCI IT audits
• Experience with MSPs and security tooling
• Clear written and verbal risk communication

Responsibilities

• Manage daily detection and response with MDR/MSSP
• Triage/investigate alerts from EDR, SIEM, email security and cloud tools
• Lead incident response for most incidents and support major ones
• Run tabletop exercises and post-incident reviews
• Run vulnerability scanning and patch tracking across systems
• Coordinate penetration tests and verify fixes
• Maintain secure configuration baselines for endpoints/servers
• Partner with Operations on OT protections
• Administer SSO, MFA and privileged access controls
• Run quarterly access reviews and improve joiner/mover/leaver processes
• Produce monthly security metrics and risk reports
• Lead a team of 2-3 security engineers and analysts
• Deliver security awareness training and phishing simulations
