Job summary

State of Georgia is seeking an IT Security Administrator to support and enforce our security controls across enterprise systems. You will administer security technologies, manage access controls, and monitor for threats, while coordinating with IT and operations to embed security in projects.

You will assist with SOPs and policies, provide guidance to security analysts, and participate in on‑call rotations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field, or equivalent.
Minimum of 3 years of professional IT experience; cybersecurity, networking or systems administration preferred.
Experience with SIEM, IAM, endpoint protection, firewalls, or vulnerability management tools.
Security certifications such as Security+, CySA+, SSCP preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist with information security awareness and promote confidential handling practices.
Administer, configure, and maintain enterprise security tools and technologies.
Lead technical implementation of new security solutions and integrations.
Manage user access rights, authentication, and role-based permissions.
Monitor security systems for alerts, anomalies, and risks.
Audit logs, perform compliance checks, and support security standards.
Coordinate security enhancements and enforce procedures and policies.
Escalate and guide security analysts on incidents and investigations.
Support vulnerability management, incident response, and post‑incident analysis.
Document security configurations and change management activities.
