Job summary

Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) invites applications for an IT Project Manager II (Part-Time) in Sacramento, CA. This role supports the IT PMO within Strategy & Governance, leading complex initiatives and coordinating across business and IT teams in a hybrid environment.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree (or 9+ years of relevant experience), 5+ years of project management with cross-functional and vendor engagement, and PMP certification within 12 months of appointment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in a field directly related to area of assignment or equivalent experience.
If no degree, nine or more (9+) years of relevant experience.
Five or more (5+) years of progressively responsible relevant project management work experience in one or more technical areas including leadership role.

Responsibilities

Coordinates activities and projects in assigned area; develops project plans, cost estimates, budgets, work breakdowns and schedules for department review.
Coordinates project planning with staff through meetings and reporting.
Ensures work activities contribute to overall project completion per objectives and schedule.
