Job summary

The Department of Natural Resources in Olympia, WA is seeking an IT Project Manager Senior/Specialist Supervisor to lead IT projects and programs, applying PMI standards and best practices to deliver outcomes.

This full-time, permanent, represented position offers flex/hybrid work, residency in WA, and a salary range of $104,256 to $140,280 annually, plus an additional 5% supervisory pay.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in information technology, computer science, or related field AND seven (7) years of professional IT experience managing full-scope technical projects.
• Experience directly supervising IT personnel in any technical area.
• Currently holds a Project Management Professional Certificate (PMP) OR another equivalent Project Management Certificate such as the PRINCE2.
• Knowledge of principles and practices of multiple IT disciplines such as data management, IT security principles, local and wide area networks, data storage, and application architecture principles.
• Knowledge of management principles with an emphasis on team building and effectiveness.
• Knowledge of leadership/management techniques and principles in the areas of strategic and operational planning, budget preparation and implementation, personnel administration, and project management.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert-level IT leadership in project management following PMI standards and best practices.
• Develop and manage all aspects of IT project and program engagement from initiation to closure.
• Monitor and control outcomes using IT analytical methods.
• Facilitate IT governance and status review meetings; quantify variances and drive corrective actions.
• Deliver executive-level communication and participate in feasibility studies and vendor selections.
• Define IT Statement of Work and specifications; manage procurement processes.
