Westat, Inc. is seeking an IT Project Manager - Senior Associate for a hybrid role based in Bethesda, MD.

You will lead technology projects across the full lifecycle, coordinating requirements, budgets, risks, and stakeholder communications to ensure on-time, on-budget deliveries aligned with security and standards. The position requires senior-level IT project management experience, cross-functional leadership, and proficiency with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, Business or related field.
• 9+ years of IT project management experience.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and priorities.
• Experience with software development, data analytics, cloud, or enterprise technology projects.
• Experience leading cross-functional project teams and working with clients.
• Knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches.
• Proficiency with PM tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and delivery of technology projects within scope, schedule, budget.
• Coordinate requirements gathering and stakeholder approvals.
• Develop and maintain project plans, budgets, risk registers.
• Implement governance: change control, risk, issues, status reporting.
• Serve as liaison between clients, leadership and technical teams.
• Identify and mitigate risks; communicate challenges to stakeholders.
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and define team roles.
• Monitor budgets and forecasted effort; recommend actions.
• Ensure compliance with security, standards, contractual obligations.
• Support project closeout and transition to operations.
• Contribute to PMO process improvements.
