Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a Sr. IT Project Manager (EHRs, health informatics, and health IT) to lead the BCHS EHR implementation across multiple bureaus in Harrisburg.

The role requires senior-level experience in health IT, PMP certification, and PA residency. The selected candidate will manage full lifecycle delivery, governance, change management, and stakeholder engagement, with on-site work two days per week and occasional travel for meetings.

Qualifications

• Led or supported the implementation of an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system transitioning from a paper-based environment.
• PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification for at least 5 years.
• Must currently reside in Pennsylvania (PA).
• Must be able to work two days per week in the Harrisburg office as requested.
• Must be able to participate in State Health Center or other off-site meetings when required.
• 7-9 years of relevant Project Management experience, demonstrating capability to independently lead complex projects.
• Must have experience with EHR/EMR systems, health informatics and health IT.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary leader responsible for full lifecycle delivery of the HHS DOH program implementation.
• Ensure the project is delivered on schedule, within budget, and meets business, technical, and quality requirements.
• Develop, manage, and obtain approval for the Project Management Plan, Communication Plan, and Deliverables Matrix.
• Plan and manage planning, design, programming, testing, and implementation activities.
• Track progress against the schedule, take corrective action when needed, and manage the budget.
• Maintain RAID+ log and risk mitigation strategies; conduct reviews and quality assurance.
• Engage stakeholders and coordinate with multiple IT teams; provide weekly status updates and documentation.
• Mentor junior project management staff and support training.
