Job summary

Synergis in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager for a 3-year contract (potential to convert to FTE). The role leads multiple application development projects in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid environments. Expect 3–6 concurrent projects, each $500K–$900K, with strong SDLC leadership.

Required: Active PMP, 10+ years in IT project management, and experience with MS Project, Clarity, Jira. Employment is W2; hybrid work in Downtown Atlanta with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Active PMP certification.
• Bachelor's degree in IT/CS/Business Administration or related field.
• 10+ years IT project management experience with application/software development.
• Full SDLC experience from requirements to deployment.
• Experience with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams with vendors.
• Experience with MS Project, Clarity, Jira or similar tools.
• Experience in utility, energy, or gas industry.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple application development and technology projects from initiation through implementation and deployment.
• Define scope, objectives, requirements, deliverables, timelines, resource needs, and budgets.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans; ensure milestones stay on schedule.
• Manage 3–6 concurrent projects, typically $500K–$900K each.
• Lead cross-functional teams and facilitate project meetings and reviews.
• Partner with business stakeholders, development teams, QA, IT leadership, and vendors.
• Serve as primary contact for stakeholders; communicate status, risks, and issues.
• Identify, assess, track, and mitigate risks; escalate critical concerns.
• Coordinate testing, UAT, deployment readiness, and release activities.
• Prepare updates to senior leadership; maintain quality standards and docs.
• Foster collaboration and accountability to drive delivery.
