Be on the forefront of new technology and help support the Department of Water Resource in managing California’s most precious resource – water. Join our team of IT professionals to perform a variety of tasks in support of systems and services in business technology management, client services, information security engineering, information technology project management, software engineering, and system engineering.

The position serves as the Senior IT Procurement Specialist and performs duties primarily within the Business Technology Management domain. The incumbent independently carries out a variety of technical tasks including managing IT procurement, contracting processes, and ensuring compliance with applicable policies and regulations. The position provides technical guidance and assistance to management and staff; conducts research and analysis; performs cost and price evaluations; and prepares IT cost and expenditure reports.

The incumbent develops routine to moderately complex IT procurements and contracts for hardware, software, consulting services, and maintenance. The position also assists with preparing, monitoring, and coordinating the IT budget; participates in planning activities related to IT acquisitions; and ensures adherence to State procurement policies and standards.
