Job summary

SMS is seeking a Deputy Program Manager to provide senior-level technical leadership and strategic guidance for AFCENT A6 enterprise IT services across the USCENTCOM AOR.

The role advises on network operations, systems engineering, and cybersecurity operations, supporting contingency and wartime IT project execution to keep mission networks secure and available 24/7. SDLC, DoD coordination, and vendor engagement are essential.

Qualifications

• MS in related field with 7+ years of IT experience, or 10+ years in IT.
• IT operations/services management, training, and firewall experience.
• Network, Systems, and Cybersecurity engineering experience.
• LAN/WAN enterprise support experience.
• Knowledge of threats to a network; ability to provide feedback for analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop goals, objectives and implementation strategies for IT services enterprise-wide.
• Provide management oversight, strategic guidance, and technical direction.
• Ensure appropriate O&M actions on mission networks for effectiveness.
• Apply SDLC concepts in engineering activities.
• Plan and execute AFCENT network operations projects for contingency/ wartime ops.
• Coordinate with DoD, contractors, and vendors; prepare briefings and reports.
• Participate in strategic planning and working groups; provide recommendations.
• Review technical documentation for completeness and accuracy.
• Prepare briefings and presentations for IT initiatives.
• Support training development to meet NOSC mission requirements.
