Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking an IT Operations Manager in Arlington, VA to lead the Help Desk Specialist Manager role and oversee day-to-day operations of the technical service desk for the F-35 JPO VE environment. You will supervise second-tier support, train staff, monitor service levels, and drive continual service improvement.

You will coordinate with system admins, network engineers and cyber personnel to ensure secure, reliable operations and compliant documentation.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, cybersecurity, engineering or related field.
10+ years of IT operations, configuration management, change management, or related work.
Experience leading technical personnel and meeting milestones and budgets.
Knowledge of hardware, software, servers, apps, networks and config changes.

Responsibilities

Lead configuration- and change-management staff and supervise daily baseline activities.
Develop and enforce configuration baselines for servers, workstations, networks, apps, and government software.
Log, categorize, and track change packages from governance boards and emergencies.
Assess changes for dependencies, cybersecurity risk, testing needs, rollback planning, and approvals.
Document decisions, action items, and status; coordinate with stakeholders and teams.
