Job summary

The New York City Police Department’s Information Technology Services Division (ITSD) seeks a Computer Associate Operations III to provide citywide IT diagnostics, Active Directory administration, and proactive hardware provisioning. This role balances service desk needs with remote user support and hands-on maintenance across agency hardware.

Under supervision, the candidate will deploy workstations and servers, perform preventive maintenance, and document corrective actions to ensure equipment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of IT LAN/WAN experience, or an equivalent combination.
• HS diploma plus 6 years IT experience, with at least 2 years in LAN/WAN-related work.
• Education/experience equivalence allowed per NYPD policy and job requirements.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and deploy workstations, servers, printers, and peripherals across facilities.
• Perform preventive maintenance and health checks on desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
• Diagnose hardware, software, and network issues; use remote tools to minimize downtime.
• Administer Active Directory, OUs, SGs, and Group Policies; troubleshoot domain joins and connectivity.
• Maintain service tickets, runbooks, and technical documentation; support IT initiatives.
