Job summary

The New York City Police Department's Information Technology Services Division seeks a qualified Computer Associate Operations III to manage citywide IT diagnostics, AD administration, and hardware provisioning. This role balances service desk demands with remote troubleshooting and hands-on hardware maintenance across borough facilities.

Responsibilities include large-scale hardware rollouts, asset management, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Professional/vendor certification(s) in local area network administration.
• A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of IT experience in LAN/WAN.
• A four-year high school diploma and six years of IT experience, with two years in LAN/WAN duties.
• Equivalency of education/experience as an acceptable substitute.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and deploy workstations, servers, printers, and peripherals citywide as needed.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and health checks on desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues using remote access tools.
• Administer Active Directory to manage user accounts, OUs, SGs, and Group Policies.
• Maintain service tickets, troubleshooting notes, and asset records; create SOPs and runbooks.
• Support IT initiatives and multi-site field operations independently and in teams.
