Job summary

Rocket Lab is seeking a Senior IT Network Engineer II to design, implement, and operate networks and firewalls for Corporate IT, Launch, and Space Systems. The role includes supporting multiple sites across the USA and may require travel.

Base pay in California is shown, with equity and a full benefits package. Located onsite at the Long Beach, CA facility, you will lead upgrades, set standards, and ensure highly available IT infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in IT and a bachelor's degree OR equivalent years of work experience (12+ years total experience)
• 5+ years of those in a network focused technology role
• In-depth knowledge of Fortinet, Juniper or Cisco network switching and firewall setup, configuration, and management
• Expert knowledge of WAN, SD-WAN, routing, IPSEC, SSL VPNs, firewalls, etc.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and support reliable IT network infrastructure for Rocket Lab's Space Systems and related operations
• Lead upgrades and continuous improvement to ensure reliability and security
• Lead project scoping, planning, and deployment for network infrastructure aligned to annual goals
• Establish WAN/LAN networking standards with other engineers
• Provide documentation of environments, support, uptime and costs
