Job summary

The Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS) in Maryland is seeking a senior IT leader to oversee enterprise data center operations and infrastructure. The role focuses on designing, operating, and modernizing mission-critical environments with high availability, along with managing networking, storage, and server platforms across multiple facilities.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrated experience designing, operating, and modernizing enterprise data center infrastructure with high availability.
• Experience with Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switching platforms, routing, Cisco DNA Center, and ISE.
• Experience administering storage systems and SAN, Fibre Channel, iSCSI and endurance storage platforms.
• Experience managing VMware vSphere/ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V, Windows Server, Linux, and IBM AIX environments.
• Experience supporting IBM Z/OS mainframe infrastructure and backup/recovery tools (Veeam, IBM Spectrum Protect, Commvault).
• Experience planning infrastructure lifecycle management, capacity planning, and hardware refresh strategies.
• Knowledge of enterprise power infrastructure (UPS, PDUs, generators, N+1 redundancy) and data center monitoring.
• Experience with MDM platforms (Intune, JAMF, MobileIron) and enterprise UC/VoIP systems (CUCM, Unity, Teams Voice).
• Experience leading modernization projects and geographically distributed data center infrastructures.
