Job summary

National Indemnity Company in Omaha seeks a Senior Finance Business Analyst to bridge Finance and Technology, driving financial reporting, close, and control initiatives. You will translate complex accounting needs into scalable IT solutions and partner with Controllers and Auditors to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in finance IT analysis, strong SQL, and familiarity with STAT/GAAP reporting in an insurance environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, Accounting, Finance or equivalent.
• 5+ years of professional experience in business analysis.
• Experience with data analysis and business systems.
• Proficiency with SQL, Microsoft Office, and data manipulation tools.
• Knowledge of software testing methodologies and procedures.
• 5+ years as a BA supporting Finance or Accounting organizations.
• Direct insurance industry experience (P&C, Life, Health, or Specialty).
• Experience supporting STAT/GAAP reporting, close, and intercompany accounting.

Responsibilities

• Elicit, analyze, document, and validate business requirements for financial close, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Translate requirements into user stories, functional specs, and test scenarios.
• Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, and Technology teams to assess data quality and control risks.
• Support audits and assist with investigations related to financial results.
