Job summary

Arizona Public Service (APS) seeks an IT Field Communications Specialist II/III/Senior to maintain enterprise and field-based communications and ensure reliable service. You will install, troubleshoot, and redesign networks and communications assets with a focus on resiliency and disaster recovery, coordinating with vendors as needed.

The role requires hands-on work in public safety microwave systems and large scale IP networks, with the ability to travel statewide, work outdoors, and overtime

Qualifications

• High school diploma and 2+ years troubleshooting metering and control systems.
• Experience with APS supervisory equipment.
• Experience designing/installing large IP networks and public safety microwave systems.
• Willingness to travel statewide, outdoors, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Install, assemble, design repairs, adjust, test, and maintain telecommunications equipment (wired/wireless, microwave, IP networks, RF, cameras, Wi‑Fi).
• Troubleshoot and repair telecom devices and systems to restore service.
• Use diagnostic software and testing equipment for problem localization.
• Coordinate with vendor and third‑party support when escalated.
• Provide 24/7 support for Enterprise Network and Public Safety systems.
