Job summary

Oscar Health is seeking a Senior IT Engineer in Los Angeles to lead the Zendesk ecosystem, integrate IAM, and automate enterprise-scale workflows. You will coordinate with security and IT teams to ensure compliant, scalable service delivery across the organization.

The role emphasizes automation, cross-functional collaboration, and hands-on engineering leadership in a hybrid work setting with a strong focus on healthcare data security.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of IT engineering experience in large-scale enterprise environments.
• 3+ years of enterprise Zendesk administration and architecture.
• IAM integration experience with tools such as Okta, IIQ, or similar solutions.
• Ability to write scripts in Python or Bash for reporting, API interactions, and advanced workflows.
• Proven project leadership, capable of leading discovery sessions and advising internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional discovery sessions to define technical requirements and translate business needs into actionable project plans.
• Architect and manage the Zendesk stack for a multi-brand environment, optimizing AI-driven tools and self-service workflows.
• Design automated Joiner/Mover/Leaver workflows and provisioning triggers, integrating Zendesk with ETM platforms.
• Develop and maintain bi-directional integrations between Zendesk and core tools like Slack, Okta, and Google Workspace.
• Enforce security policies to ensure HIPAA, SOC2, and SOX compliance and provide escalation support for complex configurations.
