Job summary

Oscar is hiring a Senior IT Engineer to own the Zendesk platform across the organization, ensuring scalable, self-service automation while maintaining strict healthcare data security.

The role focuses on bridging infrastructure including Okta, JAMF, and Google Workspace with seamless service delivery, and requires leadership in lifecycle onboarding and cross-functional collaboration. The Los Angeles office offers a hybrid schedule with three in-office days per week.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of IT engineering experience supporting large-scale enterprise environments.
• 3+ years of enterprise Zendesk Administration and architecture experience.
• IAM integration experience with Zendesk for IAM tools (Okta, IIQ, or similar).
• Proficient in scripting with Python or Bash for reporting, API interactions, and advanced workflows.
• Proven ability to lead discovery sessions and act as a consultant for internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional discovery sessions to define technical requirements and translate business needs into project plans.
• Architect the Zendesk stack (Support, Guide, Explore, Talk) for a multi-brand environment and optimize AI-driven self-service tools.
• Design automated JML workflows and provisioning triggers, integrating Zendesk with ETM platforms.
• Create and deploy complex Zendesk workflows using triggers, automations, and middleware.
• Build and maintain bi-directional integrations between Zendesk and core enterprise tools (Slack, Okta, Google Workspace).
• Enforce platform security policies to ensure HIPAA, SOC2, and SOX compliance.
• Mentor and serve as the senior escalation point for complex configurations and APIs.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for custom automations and architecture.
