Apex Leaders, LLC is seeking a Senior IT Developer to architect, build, and maintain cloud-native systems powering our private equity clients' operations. You will drive AI/ML integration into core workflows and establish engineering standards and CI/CD practices.

You will own systems end-to-end, mentor teams, and collaborate with business stakeholders to deliver scalable, reliable solutions while advancing our technology strategy.

Qualifications

4+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, cloud architecture, and systems integration.
Proficiency in JavaScript (Node.js), Python, and SQL.
Experience building cloud infrastructure (GCP) and integrating AI/ML services into business operations.
Strong problem-solving and leadership abilities.

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior IT Developer to architect, build, and maintain the cloud-native systems that power our business. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, bringing production-grade AI capabilities into enterprise workflows, and providing technical leadership across projects and teams.

We are open to this position being based at our headquarters in Boise, ID, splitting time working in the office and working remotely, or can be based remotely out of one of the following states: Florida, Illinois, Michigan, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, or Wisconsin. This role will report directly to the VP of Technology and be a member of our Technology team.

What We’re Looking For

The Senior IT Developer will be responsible for designing and leading the technical foundation of our enterprise systems. You will drive architecture and engineering standards, lead the integration of AI/ML into core business applications, and serve as a technical leader and mentor across projects. We are looking for someone who can own systems end-to-end while building consensus between business stakeholders and engineering teams.

Key responsibilities include:

Software Architecture & Cloud Development: Architect, build, and maintain scalable, cloud-native software and microservices on Google Cloud Platform (GCP); establish engineering standards, code review practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
Enterprise AI Strategy & Integration: Lead the design and deployment of production-grade AI/ML capabilities and workflows into core enterprise applications to optimize business operations.
Systems Reliability & Compliance Governance: Perform complex IT system troubleshooting; oversee enterprise software licensure management, compliance, and risk mitigation.
Strategic Vendor Governance: Lead technical evaluation and management of enterprise software vendors, negotiating SLAs, driving integration roadmaps, and resolving escalated technical conflicts.
Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Drive technical decision-making across projects and enforce software design patterns, infrastructure management, and code quality.

What You Will Bring

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or equivalent practical enterprise experience.

Experience

4+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, cloud architecture, and systems integration.
Deep production expertise in a variety of programming languages, including JavaScript (Node.js), Python, and SQL.
Demonstrated mastery of database design, complex SQL optimization, and enterprise data architecture.
Proven hands‑on experience building and deploying cloud infrastructure (GCP preferred) and integrating AI/ML services and API models into business operations.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with GCP infrastructure and Gemini.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Demonstrated ability to own full system lifecycles end-to-end, from conceptual design to production maintenance.
Strong technical leadership, capable of driving consensus across business stakeholders and engineering teams.
Expert problem-solving skills with a focus on system scalability, continuous optimization, and high availability.
Proactive mindset with a history of independently identifying efficiency gaps and executing strategic solutions.
