Job summary

GuideWell, Inc. in Florida seeks a Senior IT Database Administrator to provide expert database management consultation, design, and maintenance for high-availability systems. You will lead complex data flows, back up and recover data, and guide other DBAs.

The role requires strong SQL skills, leadership in large environments, and the ability to work across teams in a hybrid office setup. Fluency in database technologies and proactive problem solving are essential.

Qualifications

• Has 7+ years related work experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in IT or related field.
• Expert proficiency in SQL programming.
• Strong leadership demonstrated via projects or technical teams.
• Experience with large database environments for decision support and high availability.
• Proficient in OS such as MVS, Unix or NT and scripting.
• Experience with Oracle, DB2, LDAP or IMS.
• Knowledge of backup and recovery concepts and procedures.
• Familiarity with PMM and development life cycle concepts.

Responsibilities

• Consults on database, architecture and related IT infrastructure across IT levels.
• Lead implementation of large-scale database solutions based on business requirements.
• Develops and enforces disaster recovery and security policies.
• Write complex programming/scripts and support production outages.
• Provide technical leadership to other DBAs.
• Collaborate with users and IT partners to design physical database schemas.
• Address customer concerns related to database management.
• Monitor database performance and adjust configurations as needed.
