Job summary

The Charles Schwab Corporation in Austin, TX is seeking a Senior IT Auditor (Senior Specialist - Technology) to join the Internal Audit Department. This role focuses on infrastructure audits across cybersecurity, data centers, IT operations, change management, and cloud governance, reporting to a Senior Manager and helping strengthen risk controls.

You will participate in planning and executing IT audit assignments, ensure adherence to IIA standards, draft observations, and mentor team members.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of IT audit experience in financial services or similar.
• Experience performing internal audits in complex regulatory environments.
• Ability to work on project teams with external co-sourcing and internal lines of business.
• CPA, CIA or CISA preferred; other certifications considered.
• Understanding of risks and internal controls; ability to assess adequacy and effectiveness.
• Knowledge of current industry/regulatory issues and standard methodologies.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree required.

Responsibilities

• Audit Execution: Plan and execute IT infrastructure audits.
• Ensure work complies with IIA standards and IAD policies.
• Draft deliverables, test plans, and working papers; participate in scoping.
• Track team operations including audit status, issues, and budgets.
• Identify and draft audit observations for review with leadership.
• Validate audit issue action plans with the business.
• Participate in annual Risk Assessment with partners.
• Provide coaching and onboarding support to team members.
• Complete firm-wide administration and training requirements.
• Assist with special projects and process improvements.
