Job summary

Navstar is seeking an experienced Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to lead security for a large software development program. You will implement security policies, manage IAVA, and oversee documentation and accreditation efforts across diverse IT environments.

Ideal candidates hold TS/SCI with Polygraph, 10+ years in ISSO roles, and DoD 8570 IAT II/IAM II compliance. This full-time position offers competitive Maryland compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph within last 6 years.
• 10+ years as ISSO or in security operations on large software/IT programs.
• 5+ years with tools to support IAVA management.
• 5+ years with SSPs and other security documentation.
• Knowledge of security tools, encryption techniques, and system hardening.
• Experience evaluating software or architectures for security requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for implementing and enforcing information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies.
• Evaluate security solutions to meet security requirements for processing multiple types of information.
• Coordinate Configuration Management for information system security software, hardware, and firmware.
• Analyze threats and develop incident detection, reporting and remediation methodologies.
• Maintain records for system components (workstations, servers, routers, firewalls, switches).
• Maintain operational security posture for information systems.
• Support ISSM in maintaining IA posture for systems/enclaves.
• Develop and maintain documentation for Certification & Accreditation per policies.
• Develop and update system security plans and IA documentation.
• Support IAVA management (responses, scans, remediation, patches).
• Provide CM for security-relevant software, hardware, firmware.
• Develop system security policy and ensure compliance.
• Administer user identification and authentication mechanisms.
