Job summary

KSAT Inc. is seeking an experienced Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to lead cybersecurity and compliance for U.S.-based systems supporting government and commercial space operations. The role covers cloud-hosted and on‑premises environments handling sensitive data, reporting to the US Director of Engineering.

You will implement and verify NIST 800-53 controls, coordinate audits, maintain SSPs/POA&Ms, and drive risk remediation across engineering, operations, and business units.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in cybersecurity, information assurance, or related disciplines.
• 5+ years supporting regulated U.S. Government systems or environments.
• Experience implementing and assessing NIST SP 800-53 controls.
• Experience with RMF, ATO, or similar accreditation processes.
• Experience documenting SSPs, POA&Ms, security policies and risk assessments.
• Experience with environments containing CUI.
• DoD/NASA/IC experience preferred.
• U.S. citizenship; eligibility for DoD SECRET clearance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as ISSO for U.S.-based information systems and regulated environments.
• Lead implementation and monitoring of NIST 800-53 controls.
• Maintain cybersecurity posture for government/space customers.
• Develop and improve system security policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Interface for audits, assessments, and customer security reviews.
• Support SSPs, POA&Ms, and security documentation.
• Lead ATO processes and risk remediation efforts.
• Coordinate monitoring across cloud and on-prem environments.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on secure architectures.
