Job summary

Commence, headquartered in Virginia Beach, VA, seeks an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to lead security assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring for federal systems. You will work with CIO, Cybersecurity Engineers, Compliance Analysts, and project teams to ensure RMF compliance and secure operations across CMS, VA, DoD, IRS, and DHS/TSA programs.

You will coordinate risk assessments, author System Security Plans, manage POA&Ms, and prepare for agency audits and security

Qualifications

5+ years of information assurance or cybersecurity experience.
3+ years as an ISSO or A&A lead for federal information systems.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Familiarity with CMS ARS/IS2P2, VA 6500, DoD RMF and NIST SP 800-171/CMMC.
Able to read vulnerability and configuration scan output and drive remediation.

Responsibilities

Serve as the designated ISSO for assigned federal systems and liaison to agency ISSOs and officials.
Lead security assessment, authorization, and continuous-monitoring activities.
Create and maintain SSP, risk assessment, and POA&M; support audits and evidence collection.
Coordinate with CIO, engineers, compliance analysts, and project teams on security milestones.
Prepare for CMS, VA, DoD, and IRS assessments and adapt to evolving requirements.
