Job summary

Peraton’s Space & Intelligence Sector is seeking a mid-to-senior Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to join our Herndon, VA office. You will lead security for IC systems, maintain RMF artifacts, track vulnerabilities, and ensure accreditation activities align with customer requirements.

This hands-on role partners with system owners, engineers, and government personnel to uphold a robust security posture.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Security Polygraph is required.
• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience; Master’s with 6+ years or 4+ years in lieu of a degree.
• Experience supporting Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities and RMF documentation.
• Experience supporting Intelligence Community or DoD mission systems.
• RMF and Xacta experience; DoD cybersecurity requirements knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Act as the security lead for assigned systems and interface with Customer security teams and program leadership.
• Maintain RMF artifacts (SSP, SCTM, POA&M, IRP) and update as systems evolve.
• Track vulnerabilities, coordinate patching and remediation; ensure findings close on schedule.
• Manage continuous monitoring activities and security reporting.
• Support accreditation/re-accreditation activities and documentation coordination.
• Validate technical controls across system components (OS hardening, access controls, auditing).
• Provide security guidance on system changes and new integrations.
• Work with users and developers to ensure changes meet security expectations.
