Job summary

Independent Software seeks a Senior Information Systems Security Officer to provide senior-level cybersecurity and information assurance support for classified systems supporting IC and DoD missions.

You will maintain security posture through RMF processes, risk assessments, SSP development, and system authorization activities, collaborating with technical teams and stakeholders to ensure compliance and strengthen resilience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; 12+ years of relevant experience strongly preferred; 10+ years hands-on ISSO experience in IC/DoD environments required.
• Must meet DoD IAM Level II+ (CASP+ or CISSP) certification requirements.
• Active TS SCI with polygraph required.
• Experience with RMF, security authorization, risk management, and vulnerability assessments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain security posture of classified IC/DoD information systems.
• Develop, maintain, and manage a high volume of SSPs.
• Conduct vulnerability and risk assessments and support mitigations.
• Support RMF and system authorization processes.
• Manage security configurations and assess changes.
• Ensure compliance with security policies, frameworks, standards, and procedures.
• Utilize customer security tools and processes to support security and compliance.
• Collaborate with technical teams to identify vulnerabilities and strengthen system security.
• Support security activities involving servers, IA technologies, networking protocols, and network services.
