Job summary

TekSynap seeks an ISSE to provide cyber security and security engineering services for the NMCC customer, including system security engineering and risk assessment. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining IT systems, configuring HBSS, ACAS, McAfee, and related tools, and ensuring compliance with security benchmarks.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Active CompTIA Security+ certification.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field; substitutions allowed as described.
• 5+ years of systems engineering experience including design and architecture.
• Ability to identify security risks across OS, hardware, and data transfer protocols.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Strong planning and time management abilities.
• Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform or review technical security assessments of computing environments to identify vulnerabilities and non-compliance with standards.
• Build, deploy, and patch HBSS Windows and ACAS RedHat servers.
• Maintain and patch ePO, Security Center, and Nessus servers.
• Provide Security Center accounts for Vulnerability Managers to scan devices.
• Run SCAP scans on Windows and RHEL servers.
• Update RedHat 7.9/8 rpms and set up local yum repos for offline patching.
• Deploy Rogue sensors and identify rogue subnets/endpoints.
• Troubleshoot Security Center and Nessus scanner issues.
• Design and maintain complex IT systems, establish cybersecurity rules, and troubleshoot network errors.
• Lead the development of technical solutions from requirements to deployment and communicate results.
