Job summary

Applied Research Solutions is seeking an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to support NC3 programs at Hanscom AFB in Bedford, MA. The role provides cybersecurity and systems security engineering expertise across lifecycle, ensuring DoD cyber and information assurance requirements are met.

Ideal candidates are US citizens with a BA/BS, 10+ years in cyber-security, RMF experience, a DoD 8570.01 MMGT512 certification, and an active TS/SCI clearance.

• 10+ years of cyber-security experience (5+ in a DoD setting).
• Active TS/SCI clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Support the system/application authorization and accreditation (A&A) effort for weapon systems and PIT Systems, including RMF-based artifacts and DoD/Air Force policies.
• Recommend policies and procedures to ensure reliability and prevent unauthorized access to systems and data.
• Develop, execute, and track security measures to protect information and networks.
• Review architectures and recommend cybersecurity strategies for developmental and legacy systems.
• Assess threats and recommend corrective actions to reduce risk.
• Translate program requirements into technical requirements and architectures.
• Promote security awareness and ensure sound security principles in program goals and designs.
• Understand DevSecOps environments and identify security flaws during code reviews.
• Understand Linux, Ubuntu, IoT, ZTA environments and Cloud development.
• Document system security requirements and propose solutions to management.
• Develop and update Cyber Security Strategy within PPP and assess CPI/CC analyses.
• Review Tempest requirements and disaster recovery procedures.
• Experience with security/testing tools (STIGs, Nessus, ACAS, SCAP).
• Review CDRLs for cybersecurity-related areas and provide comments to PM team.
