Job summary

KBR’s Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) role is on-site at Annapolis Junction, MD, supporting the National Security Solutions team. You will design and sustain secure architectures, conduct risk and vulnerability management, and drive secure DevSecOps practices across Windows, Linux, cloud, and container environments.

Ideal candidates bring TS/SCI with Level III certs, extensive experience in NIST RMF, STIGs, and security tooling, plus strong scripting and leadership capabilities.

Qualifications

• Requires TS/SCI clearance and appropriate DoD 8570.1-M/8140 Level III certs.
• DoD 8570.1-M/8140 IAT Level III compliant (SecurityX, CASP, GCIH, CISA, CISSP).
• Strong networking, cloud security, Kubernetes, and DevSecOps background.
• Hands-on experience with Nessus, CyberArk, Trellix, Splunk, VMware vSphere, GitLab, and Linux servers.
• Scripting/automation in PowerShell, Python, Bash, Ansible.
• Proven project leadership and ability to brief leadership.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise security architecture per NIST RMF, DoD STIGs, CIS benchmarks.
• Lead SDLC security engineering: requirements, design reviews, security testing, accreditation.
• Execute vulnerability management using Nessus, ACAS, and Qualys to identify and remediate.
• Integrate security into Windows/Linux servers, cloud, virtualization, and containers.
• Support incident response and forensics using Splunk Enterprise.
• Develop automation scripts to streamline remediation, auditing, and monitoring tasks.
• Collaborate with admins, ISSOs, and app teams to remediate findings and baseline security.
• Perform security impact analyses for changes and deployments to ensure compliance.
