Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Information Security Systems Engineer (ISSE) to join a focused team supporting NC3/COG/Senior Leader communications. The role requires deep expertise in IA architecture, RMF, and DoD security policies to guide design, analysis, and implementation of secure systems across multiple enclaves.

The position emphasizes independent work, strong writing, and the ability to brief DoD leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering or related field with a minimum of 14 years of experience as an ISSE or System Engineer on programs/contracts with the customer space
• CISSP OR CASP certification required
• Strong writing skills
• Ability to present briefing to senior DoD officials in formal or ad hoc settings
• Expertise in RMF and cybersecurity risk assessments
• Expertise in network technology and systems security engineering and document security gaps
• Experience developing and documenting system security requirements and gap analyses
• Experience with security monitoring and incident response capabilities
• Experience with Zero Trust and Cloud Computing technologies
• Knowledge of NIST SP 800 series, CNSSI 1253, and DoD 8500 policies
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction

Responsibilities

• Conduct cybersecurity risk assessments and provide prioritized risk mitigation recommendations
• Support design, implementation and operation of real-time threat detection and mitigation
• Analyze candidate architectures against security requirements and identify gaps
• Research emerging technologies to determine cybersecurity effectiveness
• Engage stakeholders to define security objectives and validation methods
• Validate system security requirements and establish design
• Assist architects and developers in applying information security functionality
