Job summary

NRTC - National Rural Telecommunications Cooperative is seeking a Senior ISP Network Engineer to join our MSP team. You will design, implement, troubleshoot, and support complex multi-vendor broadband networks for rural and regional ISPs, driving reliability and performance across access, edge, and core layers.

The ideal candidate has deep experience with Cisco, Juniper, Adtran, Calix, Nokia, and Ciena, plus hands-on knowledge of BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, and IPv6.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in service provider network engineering.
• Proficient with multi-vendor equipment (Cisco, Juniper, Adtran, Calix, Nokia, Ciena).
• Strong knowledge of BGP/OSPF/IS-IS and MPLS.
• Experience with IPv4/IPv6, NAT, VPNs.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers.
• Excellent communication and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and troubleshoot multi-vendor broadband networks.
• Engineer Layer 2/3 tech with VLANs, EVPN/VXLAN.
• Lead proactive capacity planning and performance tuning.
• Operate secure remote connectivity and VPN solutions.
• Onboard customers, document discovery and transition.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with MSP teams.
• Maintain high availability and SLA compliance.
• Collaborate on standard network design templates.
