Job summary

Mariani Enterprises, LLC is seeking a Senior Irrigation Technician to lead and service high-end residential landscape irrigation systems across our nationwide network. You will install, troubleshoot, repair, and monitor centralized and smart-controller systems while mentoring junior technicians and ensuring top-quality workmanship.

The role requires 4+ years of hands-on irrigation experience, strong client-facing communication, and active certifications in irrigation technology.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of proven troubleshooting and repair experience in irrigation.
• Experience with computerized, centralized, or smart-controller irrigation systems.
• Experience training or mentoring other irrigation technicians.
• Residential irrigation installation and assembly experience.
• Extensive field experience in landscape maintenance or construction.
• Strong client-facing communication with high-end residential accounts.

Responsibilities

• Activate and winterize client irrigation systems, including large-scale systems.
• Perform property checks and quality-control inspections.
• Lead escalation for complex irrigation component issues.
• Create and review repair/upgrade proposals with junior staff.
• Dig up, repair, and install irrigation components.
• Manage water usage via programming of controllers.
• Ensure adherence to industry standards in installs and repairs.
• Mentor junior technicians and provide day-to-day guidance.
• Assist management with scheduling and process improvements.
• Maintain relationships with VIP clients on high-value properties.

Senior Irrigation Technician Designs by Sundown has an excellent career opportunity for a highly experienced Senior Irrigation Technician servicing high-end residential landscape properties. An industry-leading water-wise company, Designs by Sundown is a full-service landscape architecture, design, construction, and maintenance firm. As a senior member of the irrigation team, you will hold a key leadership position installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and monitoring all aspects of computerized, centralized, and large-scale irrigation systems, while mentoring junior technicians and serving as the go-to expert for complex system issues.

Responsibilities

• Activate and winterize client irrigation systems, including complex, large-scale, and centralized systems
• Perform property/system checks according to contracts, and conduct quality-control inspections of work completed by other technicians
• Serve as the primary point of escalation to troubleshoot and diagnose broken, faulty, or complex irrigation components that junior technicians are unable to resolve
• Create and sell proposals for repair and/or upgrades to irrigation system components, and review or approve proposals developed by junior staff
• Dig up, repair, and install irrigation components
• Manage water usage for individual properties through proper programming and adjustment of irrigation controllers, including centralized and smart-controller platforms
• Balance the water demands of a highly maintained landscape with wise environmental stewardship practices
• Verify that industry standards are being met during installation and repairs of irrigation components across the team's work
• Train, mentor, and provide day-to-day technical guidance to junior irrigation technicians
• Assist management with scheduling, workflow coordination, and process improvement for the irrigation department
• Maintain direct relationships with key and VIP clients on the company's most complex or highest-value properties

Experience/Certifications

• 4+ years of proven troubleshooting and repair experience in a residential or commercial irrigation technician role (Required)
• Demonstrated experience working with computerized, centralized, or smart-controller irrigation systems
• Prior experience training, mentoring, or overseeing the work of other irrigation technicians (Preferred)
• Previous residential irrigation assembly and installation experience
• Extensive field experience within the landscape industry (maintenance or construction)
• Strong client-facing communication skills, with experience managing high-end residential accounts (Preferred)
• Valid Driver's License (Required)
• Certified Irrigation Technician (Required)
• Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor or equivalent advanced irrigation certification (Preferred)
