Job summary

Designs by Sundown is seeking a Senior Irrigation Technician to lead high-end residential irrigation projects. You will install, troubleshoot, repair, and monitor large centralized systems while mentoring junior technicians and serving as the go-to expert for complex issues.

Responsibilities include winterizing systems, performing quality checks, and preparing repair proposals. A strong client-facing approach and certifications are required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of troubleshooting and repair in residential or commercial irrigation.
• Experience with centralized or smart-controller irrigation systems.
• Experience training, mentoring, or supervising other irrigation technicians.
• Valid driver's license.
• Certified Irrigation Technician.
• Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor or equivalent (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Activate and winterize client irrigation systems, including large-scale centralized setups.
• Perform property and system checks and QC inspections of work.
• Escalate and diagnose complex irrigation components for junior technicians.
• Create and review repair/upgrade proposals for irrigation systems.
• Mentor junior staff and provide day-to-day technical guidance.
• Assist management with scheduling and process improvements for the irrigation dept.
• Maintain relationships with key and VIP clients on high-value properties.
